How can you mitigate risk and protect your hotel brand in the face of increasing risk?

From supply chain attacks to AI-based spear phishing, the threat of a cyber-attack is ever-present as cybercriminals continue to evolve. This session will focus on the importance of strong policies, processes and procedures that will help mitigate risk in the event of a breach and practical advice on what to do in the event of such an incident. This session includes contributions from experts in the area of data security, compliance and law.

From Reservation Check-in to Check-out and everything in between, how can you remove friction, extend your hotel brand identity throughout the entire payment and offer the optimal payment experience? Payments are a key touchpoint in the overall guest experience and a poor payment experience can cast a shadow on a guest’s overall stay. This session discusses how and why it is important to deliver a secure, frictionless experience, but also provides an opportunity to reflect the hotel’s brand. From the point of booking, check-in, settling outstanding balances and check-out, all are key opportunities to ensure that payments are convenient, effortless and require minimal attention.

Event Chair

Digitalisation and Sustainability Lead for Siemens in Ireland, Joan Mulvihill is at the forefront of driving technology adoption in Ireland for the past decade.  Having been CEO of the Irish Internet Association for 7 years, followed by 2 years as Centre Director for the Irish Centre for Cloud Computing, Joan’s role in leading digitalisation for Siemens customers builds on her deep commitment to and understanding of the needs of Irish business to create sustainable value.  Joan is a board member of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII), the Industrial Research and Development Group (IRDG) and National Council member of the Contemporary Irish Art Society.

A certified CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and DORA Certified Compliance Specialist (ICTTF) with over twelve years of experience in information security. Paul is a regular contributor to the national conversation on cybersecurity in print media, radio and television. He is also an active ICTTF (International Cyber Threat Task Force) member.

Seán Groeger is an experienced professional in financial services law and technology law with over 15 years of experience. He is a senior legal counsel at BNP Paribas, focusing on  F&S, cybersecurity and technology law in Ireland. Seán is a member of the  Law Society of Ireland Technology Committee and has been involved in various cybersecurity projects and initiatives for the Law Society of Ireland.

Sean O’Donnell

Partner, Byrne Wallace LLP

Seán is a Partner in the ByrneWallace. He leads the firm’s cross departmental data protection team and practices in the area of regulatory law and litigation. He has advised public and private clients in responding to cybersecurity and ransomware attacks and works with clients to develop GDPR compliant frameworks and defend data protection compensation claims.
